#26 - (4 Way Tie) Just Fun Stuff - 1983, 1989, 1988, 1986
1989 - Why the hell is Craig there?
At this point in time Craig and Jeff were really only friends through me. They certainly were not Friends but were more friends of Friends. Dan and Craig however were rooming together at the Pit. One day Craig and I had stopped by Jeff's parents house to pick up Jeff to go somewhere. Coincidentally at that exact moment Dan called Jeff's house. Jeff spoke with Dan for a moment and Craig had him give him the phone. Craig told Dan he was at Jeff's house because Jeff had invited him over for Jeff's uncle's birthday party. Dan was flabbergasted, why would Craig be at Jeff's without Phil? and why would he be at Jeff's uncles birthday party? So Craig went on to explain that the party had kind of turned ugly and people were leaving because Jeff's Uncle had slapped Jeff's mother for dropping the birthday cake. The whole time I was busting up laughing as Dan bought the whole thing hook, line and sinker.
1988 - The hockey guys
Jeff and I bought hockey jerseys and began to attend parties in Davis as "The hockey guys" we told people that we were minor league hockey players for the Elk Grove Wolverines. Jeff was the leading scorer in the league, I was the highest scoring defenseman. This amazingly absurd line was very effective on the woman, until Matt would eventually wander over laugh and say "Don't believe anything these guys say to you" Matt never did grasp the concept of lying to girls at parties for fun and tongue. One time that we used this ploy, Jeff ended up making out in the bushes with some girl while I distracted her sister about 10 feet away. Eventually the sister got by me and screamed and screamed at Jeff. One of the other lies that we told at parties was that UC Davis had just succeeded in developing a Cotton Sheep. Instead of wool its fur was cotton. It was amazing how many women believed this story. Dan also got in the act as he attended one party with a hard hat on and told people he was a construction worker. We also introduced him at parties as our friend from back home, a freshman in high school. Youthful looking Dan was very believable in the role.
