#34 - Craigmania - June 4-7, 1998
The 1st Craigmania committee meeting was May 2, 1997, the wedding was May 2, 1998 the Bachelor Party began June 4, 1998.
It started Thursday Night at the Graduate in Davis with Phil, Jeff, Craig, Dan and Luis:
- 20 Ice Teas, 10 Kamikazes, 15 32 oz Chug Jugs, and 5 shots of Tequila were consumed
- The next morning Jeff says "Does anyone remember how we got back to the hotel" and is answered only by blank stares.
- Dan was abandoned in Lyons as Phil and Jeff tackled Craig outside
- Jeff had recommended painters tape to hold them up, it didn't work.
- After hearing for years about the "great" bathroom in UCSB Jeff and I covered all the walls of the bathroom with black garbage bags, replaced the lights with blue light bulbs and put a large African mask in the bathroom.
- I told Craig to check out the bathroom, he was afraid slowly opening the door and exclaiming "Is some one going to jump out at me?"
- During the course of the night such famous blasts from the past like the Plack, the Bobble Ball, the Bathroom, Zippy's Bachelor Party, the Brain Lamp and the Worm all reappeared.
- Everyone but Rob, Mark, Pete, Jeff and I calling it an early night on Friday.
- Wearing pirate eye patches and roaming the casinos
- Jeff and Brian Indian Leg wrestling on the putting green (Jeff won)
- 3 Lawyers, 2 engineers and an Actuary and none of us could figure out how to roll down the windows in the van
- Playing Viking Master, Bunny Master, Bobble, Thumper etc. in the hotel room
- Pete's inability to grasp the concept of Viking Master
- Jeff and Phil giving origami animals to the employees
- Jeff being chastised - "Wow a whole dollar, cheap bastard!"
- Doing the Muffin Man dance in the hotel
and on and on...
After all was said and done just 2 lone people completed the NEW HOLY TRIAD (Completing all three nights of Craigmania) That's right 2 Aggies, PHIL & JEFF. That probably doesn't surprise anyone.
The video is great, I'll show it someday! I've spliced it together with other videos for highlights. It's pretty damn cool.
